Pursuing
MBBS in India is getting tough day by day. The number of government medical
college in India is very less as compared to the aspirants. The private college
are very costly. Moreover, in 2016, the Supreme Court has made a mandatory rule
that the sole criterion for admission into medical and dental course in India
will be through the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET). This has
stopped the donation culture that was prevailing in private medical college in
India. But it has really become tough for the Indian students aspiring to
become doctor as everybody have to clear NEET for medical education. The only
option left is to study MBBS in abroad.
But
while taking admission in abroad one must make sure that the university is
approved and recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI). This is because
after passing MBBS in foreign country,
candidates need to clear a screening test, i.e., the FMGE examination to
practice in India. MCI will not allow the candidate to seat for the screening
test if the university from where the candidates have got his MBBS degree is not recognized by MCI.
Thus it is very important to check out whether the medical university in abroad
where the candidates are going to take admission is MCI recognized or not. After passing the
FMGE examination the successful candidate can apply for provisional or
permanent registration to the Secretary, Medical Council of India (MCI), New
Delhi or to any State Medical Council (SMC) of India along with the requisite
registration fee. MCI or SMC will issue provisional certificate to the
candidates who needs to undergo one year internship in an approved institution.
Students who have already undergone one year internship are eligible to get
permanent registration.
