The relationship of India and
Russia have been very healthy from decades and one of the main reason for such
long term relationship is that Russia is one of the most favourite destinations
for pursuing MBBS in abroad for most
of Indian students. Every year hundreds of Indian students apply for admission
in the medical colleges of Russia.
Over 5000 Indian students are
currently studying in various medical colleges in Russia. There are many reasons
why Indian students prefer to choose Russia than other countries. One of main
reason is that in Russia most of the medical universities are approved from
Medical Council of India (MCI) and as such after passing MBBS from Russia,
students can practice in India just by clearing the screening test that are conducted
by MCI. So students who cannot qualify NEET in India or who did not get
admission in the government medical college in India, prefers to go to Russia
for getting the prestigious MBBS degree
from Russia. The cost of pursuing MBBS in the private college in India is very
high. You need 70-80 Lakhs for MBBS course in the private medical college in
India whereas you can complete MBBS in 20-50 Lakhs in Russia. Only thing is
that you have to clear the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) after
passing out MBBS in Russia in order to practice in India. But if you compare
the quality of medical education of Russia and private medical college in
India, you will find that the quality of Russian medical college is very high.
That is the reason why in the list of top 100 medical universities in the
world, about 30 medical universities are from Russia. Russian medical
university gives more emphasis on clinical training to their students rather
than the theoretical approach. This clinical training helps students to become expert in maintaining rapport with
the patients, taking a comprehensive history from the patient, decision making
on the various options of treatment, etc. Apart from that Russians are
very welcoming community and they respect and help the foreigner especially
Indians as their own family members. In Russia there are no religious issues
and you will not found any incidence of racism in any Russian medical
universities. Thus Russia is a safe place to study for Indians.
As far as infrastructure and
facilities are concerned, Russian medical universities are the best in the
world. Most of the medical college inRussia are more than 100 years old and they have every facility that is
required in the present day academic challenge. They have city hospitals, dispensaries and maternity homes
in the university campus where the students use have clinical training and
research. The teacher-student ratio in most of the Russian medical college is
1:7. That is why the students are best taken care of by the professors and
other teaching staffs. The universities have high tech and modern equipments in
the laboratories. Moreover, the university has all facilities for sports and
extra-curricular activities. Every year some Indian festivals like Diwali,
Dussehra, Holi, Baisakhi, etc. are organized in most of the Russian medical
college. All the students of the
university including Indians, Russians and other who have come from other parts
of the world actively participates in these Indian festivals and this creates a
strong bonding between the students who have come from all over the world. Thus Indian students enjoys in
pursuing MBBS in Russia.
